Founder Hilary Contolini once let a growing collection of necklaces become so tangled around her neck that she literally wasn't able to take them off for four years. The positive reaction to that accidental piece inspired her to learn the art of deliberate metal manipulation at San Francisco City College. After creating a series of "West Coast" pendants, Vittrock was born.
